495 West Street

The pioneering 35,000 square foot new construction at 495 West Street, between Jane and West 12th Streets, foresaw the transformation of the Hudson River waterfront into Manhattan’s new Gold Coast. The eleven-story, nine-unit condominium loft building consists of seven full-floor residences and two duplex penthouses, each with spectacular uninterrupted panoramic views of the water and ranging in size from 2,000 to 4,700 square feet.

Tamarkin Co. commissioned CT Architect to design the building. Forty-eight foot long ribbons of industrial steel windows and alternating bands of corbelled bricks contribute to the building’s striking presence along the waterfront while tying the building back to its maritime warehouse roots. The open raw-space interiors reveal the robust concrete superstructure of the building and allowed purchasers the flexibility to create their own layouts.

495 West Street has been cited in numerous publications as a trend-setter along the revitalized Hudson River waterfront.
