Tamarkin Co. creates classically modern, beautiful and distinctive buildings
for the discerning buyer. Cary Tamarkin, a Harvard-trained architect, founded
Tamarkin Co. and CT Architect in 1994 to combine his passion for the
art of architecture with the business of real estate development. The company
has since created a portfolio of residential condominium buildings that have
garnered acclaim for their timeless aesthetic and sensitivity to the urban context.
Ranging from challenging conversions of historic structures to carefully considered
and beautifully crafted new buildings, Tamarkin Co. residences have established
new benchmarks in both design and luxury. 140 Perry Street and 206 West 17th
Street set the standard for conversions of warehouses into luxury loft apartments.
495 West Street led the wave of new residential developments along the West
Village waterfront and was the recipient of an American Institute of Architects
Honor Award. 47 East 91st Street is the first new residential building in Carnegie
Hill to have been approved by the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission
in over 50 years. Tamarkin Co. recently completed the much-admired
397 West 12th Street and 456 West 19th Street. 508 West 24th Street is the most
recent building in this unparalleled body of work, and the company is currently
constructing a new residential building located at 550 West 29th Street and
converting a former school at 555 West End Avenue.
